The Bustamante High School Receives Modern ICT Labs Through Strategic Partnership
Bustamante High School in Clarendon has officially received renovated and expanded Information and Communications Technology (ICT) laboratories, marking a major milestone in the institution’s recovery following a fire that severely damaged two of its ICT labs nearly two years ago. The restoration represents a million-investment led by the Universal Service Fund (USF), in partnership with e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited, the Flow Foundation, and the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information.
The project involved comprehensive infrastructure repairs, the installation of modern ICT equipment, and the provision of enhanced digital learning tools designed to support a more engaging and future-ready learning environment. These upgrades will significantly improve students’ access to technology, strengthen digital literacy, and support the integration of ICT into teaching and learning across subject areas.
For the Universal Service Fund, the initiative reflects its continued commitment to bridging the digital divide and promoting equitable access to technology, particularly within underserved and vulnerable communities. By restoring and enhancing ICT facilities at Bustamante High School, the partnership not only rebuilds physical infrastructure but also invests in youth empowerment, resilience, and long-term national development.
