The Universal Service Fund (USF) invites eligible Jamaican nationals to apply for the 2026 USF Grant Programme, an initiative designed to support educational and professional advancement in the digital sector. Applications open July 6, 2026, and close July 31, 2026.
The 2026 USF Grant Programme offers two funding opportunities:
- USF Emerging Digital Leaders Grant – Valued at JMD $300,000, this grant is open to Jamaican nationals aged 17–28 who demonstrate strong academic potential, leadership qualities, active community involvement, and a commitment to contributing to Jamaica’s digital transformation.
- USF Digital Advancement and Professional Development Grant – Valued at JMD $200,000, this grant supports Jamaican nationals aged 30–40 who are pursuing undergraduate studies after having attained at least an Associate Degree or Diploma.
Through this initiative, the Universal Service Fund continues to invest in Jamaica’s human capital by expanding access to educational opportunities, fostering innovation, and developing the talent needed to drive the country’s digital future.

Investing in Jamaica’s Digital Future: USF ICT Education Grant
The Universal Service Fund (USF) continues to invest in the development of Jamaica’s digital talent through its ICT Education Grant Programme, providing financial support to Jamaicans pursuing education and professional advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other digital-related fields.
The programme reflects USF’s commitment to expanding access to educational opportunities, developing a digitally skilled workforce and empowering more Jamaicans to contribute meaningfully to the country’s digital transformation.
Creating Pathways to Digital Opportunity
In 2026, the ICT Education Grant Programme is supporting 12 Jamaican nationals pursuing studies and professional development in ICT and digital-related fields.
The programme provides a one-time payment through two categories, designed to support students at different stages of their educational and professional journeys.
- The USF Emerging Digital Leaders Grant, valued at J$300,000, targets Jamaican nationals aged 17 to 28 who demonstrate academic potential, leadership qualities, community involvement and a passion for advancing Jamaica’s digital future.
- The USF Digital Advancement and Professional Development Grant, valued at J$200,000, supports Jamaican nationals aged 30 to 40 who are pursuing undergraduate studies after attaining at least an Associate Degree or Diploma and seeking to further their professional development.
Investing in Jamaica’s Digital Talent
- Of the 12 recipients, seven students will receive the USF Emerging Digital Leaders Grant, while five recipients will receive the USF Digital Advancement and Professional Development Grant.
- Together, the grants represent a $3-million investment in the educational and professional development of Jamaicans pursuing ICT and digital-related fields.
- This investment is designed to help recipients overcome financial barriers to education while equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in Jamaica’s growing digital economy.

The ICT Education Grant Programme is about more than financial assistance. It is an investment in the individuals who will help shape Jamaica’s digital future.
