In 2025, the Universal Service Fund (USF) proudly marks two decades of unwavering service to Jamaica. Since our establishment in 2005, we have worked tirelessly to bridge the digital divide and ensure that every Jamaican — regardless of location or background — has access to the tools, opportunities, and connections that power the modern world.
As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we reflect on a legacy of national impact and renew our commitment to building a digitally inclusive future for all.
Our Journey
Established: 2005
412+ Community Wi-Fi Sites deployed across Jamaica — bringing access to even the most remote communities.
36+ Public Wi-Fi Locations providing free internet access in town centres, parks, and key public spaces.
Deployment of Our Largest Access Point to Date — extending coverage and connection like never before with 62 access points across Half-Way Tree.
Thousands of Children Supported through our national device distribution programme.
Over $13 Million in Scholarships awarded in 2024 to students pursuing careers in ICT.
1,800+ Beneficiaries of the Technology Advancement Programme (TAP) — launched in 2017 to upskill Jamaicans for a digital future.

Scholarship Funding
The Universal Service Fund continues to support bright minds through scholarships in ICT-related fields. By empowering students with the tools and funding to succeed, we’re helping to shape a more connected, innovative, and digitally skilled Jamaica.
ICT CLUB
The Universal Service Fund supports ICT Clubs across Jamaica to spark curiosity, build digital skills, and encourage youth to explore technology. These clubs empower students to become creators, not just consumers, in our growing digital world.
Electronic Device Donations
The Universal Service Fund has proudly donated thousands of electronic devices to schools, community centres, and underserved groups across Jamaica. From tablets to laptops, each device brings someone closer to education, empowerment, and equal access in today’s digital world.
Free Wi-fi
Through our Fee Wi-Fi launches across towns and cities, the Universal Service Fund is making reliable internet access a reality for all. From urban hubs to rural centres, we’re bringing Jamaicans closer to education, business, and opportunity—free of charge.
