Consistent with the Universal Service Fund’s thrust to enable a knowledge-based society through universal access to the Internet and digital inclusion, the community Wi-Fi project is designed to provide Wi-Fi internet access in 189 communities across Jamaica aimed at increasing access to digital residents.

The 189 communities were selected based on the initial submission by Members of Parliament and the outcome of subsequent assessments conducted at sites consistent with the Fund’s selection criteria.

The map below shows the locations where the USF Community Wi-Fi Programme has been implemented, to date. The programme is ongoing.
